Restorative Dentistry Procedures to Transform Your Oral Cavity

Restore Form and Function

Dental Implants

Dental implants offer unparalleled stability and longevity in replacing individual teeth, supporting a bridge, or securing a denture. Our doctors are happy to offer patients the convenience of implant design, placement surgery, and restoration all at one location. Dental implant surgery is an outpatient procedure in which implants are placed. In the proceeding months, the jawbone will integrate with the implants in a process known as osseointegration. Once this process is complete, you will return to our office and we will attach permanent restorations to your implants.

Fillings

Our doctors prefer to use tooth-colored, custom-shaded composite resin rather than amalgam (metal) fillings, so that patients can maintain a white, naturally beautiful smile, even after having cavities. Composite resin fillings are composed of a special form of durable, long-lasting plastic that is mixed with glass particles to create reflectivity. To prepare teeth for fillings, we use air abrasion rather than the traditional dental drill, allowing our patients a quieter, more relaxing experience. In some cases, if decay exists only on the outer surface of a tooth, no anesthesia is required with air abrasion. Rest assured, we always aim to implement the least invasive and most comfortable treatment for our patients.

Dentures

To replace all teeth on the upper arch, the lower arch, or both arches, our doctors offer an array of full dentures. We also provide partial dentures to replace multiple missing teeth across a portion of an arch. You may choose from traditional dentures that rely upon natural suction or denture adhesive to remain in place, or, for a more stable and permanent solution, you may elect to receive long-lasting and highly durable implant-supported dentures. Four to six dental implants can secure a full denture, and fewer implants often suffice to support a partial denture. We also offer mini dental implants for patients who do not have sufficient bone density for traditional implants.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge, designed to fill a gap in your smile typically caused by one to three consecutive missing teeth, consists of two crowns with a set of prosthetic teeth (pontics) affixed in the middle. Your dentist will secure the bridge by attaching the two supporting crowns to healthy teeth at both ends of the gap. You may opt for a traditional bridge or an implant-supported bridge. An implant-supported bridge does not require crowns, which means that no healthy teeth will need to be altered to support the bridge. Instead, the implant, or implants, will anchor the bridge securely to the jawbone.

Same-day Crowns

For the convenience of our patients, we utilize our in-office CEREC® machine’s CAD/CAM technology to fabricate custom, tooth-colored same-day crowns. CEREC® combines computer-aided design with a milling unit to sculpt custom restorations from ceramic blocks in about one hour. After taking digital impressions of your tooth, the doctor will use CEREC® software to design your crown. Then, he will submit the digital design to the milling unit. Once your crown is ready, your dentist will place it during the same appointment. You will not have to wear a temporary restoration or return a second time: instead, you will enjoy a custom-fitted, natural-looking ceramic crown after just one office visit.

Inlays and Onlays

CEREC® also fabricates inlays and onlays for patients who need more restoration than a traditional filling can provide, but who do not require a full crown. Inlays and onlays are solid restorations composed of durable ceramic. Unlike crowns, inlays and onlays are not caps which are placed over an entire tooth. Onlays, sometimes called partial crowns, are placed to repair one or more cusps on the chewing surface of a tooth, and may extend down the side of the tooth. Inlays fit between the cusps, in the center of the chewing surface of a tooth. With proper care, inlays and onlays fabricated with CEREC® can last up to 20 years or longer.
